Copying and Pasting from Microsoft Word

One major change to Moodle is in the way you copy material from Microsoft Word and paste it into Moodle.  Some of you may have experienced issues when copying and pasting in previous versions of Moodle, where weird code (usually with MSO.Normal attached) would appear around the text.  To alleviate this problem, please use the Paste from Word button in the Moodle textbox toolbars:

Moodle Textbox Toolbar

  1. After you have copied your text from Microsoft Word, go back into your Moodle course.
  2. In the textbox toolbar, click the Paste from Word button.
  3. A new window appears; paste your text (right-clicking and selecting Paste, or pressing Ctrl+V on your keyboard) into that textbox.
  4. Click the Insert button.

You must do this every time you want to paste something that has been copied from Microsoft Word.
